OKFN - Looking back on 2015

A Open Knowledge Foundation publicou um artigo listando a sua actividade em 2015. Inclui links para vários eventos e projectos de grande interesse para o movimento de dados abertos internacional.

Open Access Button

You will be able to download the Open Data Button on Chrome, and later on Firefox. When you need the data supporting a paper (even if it's behind a paywall), push the Button. If the data has already been made available through the Open Data Button, we'll give you a link. If it hasn't, you’ll be able to start a request for the data. Eventually, we want to search a variety of other sources for it - but can't yet (read on, we need your help with that).

The request will be sent to the author. We know sharing data can be hard and there's sometimes good reasons not to. The author will be able to respond to it by saying how long it'll take to share the data - or if they can't. If the data is already available, the author can simply share a URL to the dataset. If it isn't, they can attach files to a response for us to make available. Files shared with us will be deposited in the Open Science Framework for identification and archiving. The Open Science Framework supports data sharing for all disciplines. As much metadata as possible will be obtained from the paper, the rest we'll ask the author for.

PASTEUR4OA (Open Access Policy Alignment Strategies for European Union Research)

PASTEUR4OA (Open Access Policy Alignment Strategies for European Union Research) aims to support the European Commission’s Recommendation to Member States of July 2012 that they develop and implement policies to ensure Open Access to all outputs from publicly-funded research.

PASTEUR4OA will help develop and/or reinforce open access strategies and policies at the national level and facilitate their coordination among all Member States. It will build a network of centres of expertise in Member States that will develop a coordinated and collaborative programme of activities in support of policymaking at the national level under the direction of project partners.

Journalism++ Porto

Alguma da malta do Porto ligada ao Transparência Hackday criaram uma extensão no Porto do projecto internacional Journalism++, focado em fomentar o jornalismo baseado em dados.

Academic Torrents é um projecto internacional que visa facilitar a partilha de grandes quantidades de dados de pesquisa cientifica. Usando tecnologia bittorrent para diminuir a relutância dos investigadores em partilhar os dados da sua investigação cientifica financiada por dinheiro público.

The Popolo Project

Projecto internacional que visa especificar uma norma para dados governamentais abertos.

A related goal is to make it easier for civic developers to create government transparency, monitoring and engagement websites, by developing reusable open source components that implement the specifications. Although the data specification is designed primarily for open government use cases, many other use cases are supported."

rOpenGov

A malta da Finlândia anda a trabalhar no projecto rOpenGov, um conjunto de ferramentas desenvolvidas em R aplicadas aos dados abertos governamentas. A linguagem R é conhecida por permitir análises estatisticas e probabilisticas, entre outras coisas.

Observatori Ciutadà de l'Ajuntament (x)

OCAx é um projecto de software livre desenvolvido para facilitar a visaulização de auditorias de despesa municipal. Traduzido em várias linguas incluindo Português. Agora é só usar.

O governo do Reino Unido lançou recentemente o GIST - Government Interrogation Spending Tool, uma página web com visualização dos dados abertos relativos aos gastos governamentais.
